Storytelling Festival

Hippocampus Children's Co, the library and reading place for children is organising a story telling festival on Feb. 29 and Mar 1, 2008 for children between the age group 3 to 13.
At the Alliance Francaise Madras and ThinkBig Books is participating.

Children can interact with writers, illustrators apart from experiencing various story telling techniques such as puppetry, ventriloquism, karaoke etc.

Art classes for kids

This is a course for children in the age group of 6 to 16 years to get introduced to Art Education.

Designed by G. Chandrasekharan, principal, Govt. College of Fine Arts, Chennai, this course is a six months programme with exclusive curriculam and is hosted by Hues Art Gallery.

Classes will be held every Saturday from 3 to 5 pm, beginning from Feb. 16, 2008.
There are classes for the adults also on Sundays.

Celebrate nature!

In a story telling workshop with Emily Parrish, featuring singing, drawing, role playing and seed planting you will learn about your environment.

Chennai Science Festival

February is for celebrating Science.National Science Day is celebrated on every Feb. 28 in India.
On this occasion Science City situated inside the Birla Planetarium campus has organised a five-day-long Science Festival.

From Feb. 6 to 10, 2008.

The festival will feature science exhibitions containing working models, hands-on experimentation and other practical means of teaching the scientific principles behind applications in everyday life, scientific films, popular lectures, panel discussions, poster exhibitions, book exhibitions, science shows, science entertainment, competitions like quiz, essay writing, oratorical, science models, robotics and citizens’ interactions with eminent scientists.
